Do you remember what America was like before Trump began his “campaign (con pain)” to enrich himself via a promotional stunt to become President? Things are incredibly different now in a thousand disgusting ways.
I now have a tiny slice of understanding of how the Germans must have felt after the death of Hitler and the end of WWII. Their country was ripped apart and completely destroyed by Adolf Hitler and his supporters. Let that be a lesson for everyone, especially remaining diehard Trump supporters.
Before Trump, I used to vote for both Democrats and Republicans for president and did not give it a second thought. I was usually drawn to Democrat and Independent candidates, however. Nevertheless, I was never concerned about whether a Republican or Democrat President would push the country off a cliff. Until Trump.
I had limited knowledge about the U.S. Congress before Trump. Now I have an excellent understanding of how it works. Being horrified by the election of Trump as President I immediately became highly motivated to learn about politics and Congress.
During both of Trump’s impeachments, I watched all day every day. Yes, for weeks! From this, I learned not only about the processes of the House and Senate but also about the personality and character of members of Congress. I was shocked to observe the despicable and unprincipled behavior of Trump loyalists. Their outbursts and temper tantrums were juvenile, undignified, and deceitful. As I watched them I thought, “These are elected members of the U.S. Congress?” All of them are listed toward the top in the Republican Hall of Shame.
After the two impeachments, I became very interested in the process of creating and voting for important bills in Congress. The same goes for the activities of the U.S. Supreme Court and its justices.
Back to America before Trump. As far back as I can remember I was never concerned with the standing of our democracy, political parties, or the President. I respected all U.S. Presidents even when I disagreed with some of their decisions. Our country was mostly stable, peaceful, and hopeful. Until Trump.
I’ve never had any respect for Donald J. Trump. I now have a million times less than zero. What angers me most is knowing that all the destruction Trump has inflicted on the United States was all self-serving to make money, gain power, boost ego, and most importantly avoid prison.
Well, Trump’s con game is over, judgment day is here, and criminal and civil convictions are certain. Not only for him but also for his children and cronies. Then we can start working on accountability and reconciliation after Trump.
Rest assured, the Trump nightmare is nearly over.
